i lost a huntin partner Sunday.....

Postby judge jb » Tue Sep 03, 2002 12:14 pm

she was 13 years old and appeared that old age caught up with her... when i went to let her out for a walk she decided to just stay in thr pen.... i could tell she wasn't suffering, but the twinkle in her eye was gone.... i sat down with her and talked old times and petted her when she passed away.... guess it was just meant to be.... not a good way to spend my birthday.....

Judge: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss!!! I don't know what I'll do when my partner passes!
I love to watch the ducks circle and the dogs work.

The only thing wrong with Labs is that they do not live as long as we do. It is a heart breaker to lose one, but the day comes for all of us. A new pup helps soften the pain. :(

Sorry to hear it Judge. I never thought I would but I cried when I had to bury my Brittany 10 years ago. The farmer where we hunted quail and woodcock let me bury her near some special memory places. I broke down asking for permission to place her. A new pup in a few months will do the trick. Good Luck Robbie

Judge, I am thinking of you as I type this out. We become one with our hunting buddies and I know that you loved your dog. My Boeuf is now 10 and I know that the day will come. I don't want to think about it, she is part of my family. I hope that you will remember all of the good times that you two had and smile about that. I guess the one good thing is that they do not think in time, they do not know that they have such a short time to be with us. Jack

I don't have a lab, but I have an old basset hound that is getting on up there. Sorry to hear about your loss judge.
Throw away those Wal-Mart calls and go get you a Rich-N-Tone!

Nothing hurts a man or a boy as much as losing his pet and best friend. It is always hard to say good bye and you will think of the dog often.
I miss my girl every hunting season and I have had another for years. When you spend as much time as you do with the dog you become very attached and they become an extention to your family.
I have a heart felt sorrow for your loss Judge and hope that the memories will all be good and last forever.

Sorry about your loss judge. Think of the good times and how lucky the dog was to have you as its master...knowing you did everything you could to give it a good life. At least she spent her last piece of time here with the one who meant the most to her.
