Yes, your defense is great, just like ours when the offense doesn't show up in practice and scrimmage.

The frosh RB from Fla that state signed failed the Fla fcat again, so he won't be seeing campus anytime soon, still awaiting word on wr Carpenter.

Funny.... at least a 3.0gpa student, good act score, and fails the damn functional literacy exam not once, but twice to graduate from high school.

I think both state and ole miss should have a descent defense this year. You have state returning 9 starters from last year (four seniors on the line), from a defense that really didn't do real bad last year, and then ole miss has a big leader in patrick willis who should be able to help keep opponents running game under control pretty much by himself, but he wasn't on the field at all saturday from what the CL said.

Why didn't lane participate? Is he the secret weapon at tight end/wing out that can't be revealled or is he banged up?

MSU's OL is banged up right now, and Croom is switching players back and forth between positions, even has pulled some DL over to OL.

WR Alex Carpenter has made it through the Clearinghouse. However, word I'm hearing is Powe's headed to CC.

Schaeffer and the offense had little trouble against a first-team defense missing middle linebacker Patrick Willis and defensive end Peria Jerry.

First drive: tailback BenJarvus Green-Ellis scored from 21 yards.

After that, Schaeffer tossed touchdown passes to Michael Hicks, Robert Hough and Dexter McCluster. His 6-yarder to Hough came after he dodged a defender in the pocket, rolled left to the sideline and rifled a pass into the tight end's arms in the end zone.

Ole Miss also showed off an improved running game, which was led by reserve tailbacks Cordera Eason (14 carries, 68 yards, one touchdown), Bruce Hall (16 carries, 102 yards, four touchdowns) and Hiram White (11 carries, 104 yards, two touchdowns).

The trio earned extra work because Mico McSwain sat out with an injury and Green-Ellis was given the afternoon off after the first touchdown.

Schaeffer's only big mistake came later, when a pass intended for Hicks was intercepted by cornerback Terrell Jackson and returned 40 yards for a touchdown.

Orgeron said the receivers, who dropped a handful of passes, were the only disappointment. But Ole Miss is being patient with the group, which is loaded with inexperience.

Well, whether Powe makes it or not, I am still watiting for you to share with us the other 10 or so Ole Miss players that will never make it according to you (and Gene). I specifically remember you publically declaring half the Ole Miss class would never make it to campus...

Right now, of the entire class, we only got 5 not practicing and only 1 is for sure not gonna make it! Far shot from the 13 you had so much information about several months ago... 8)

CHODE!

in all fairness camlock...... there's spots left out of our 105 practice names...... 1 of the 5 ( Jerry ) is practicing. 2 of the 5 will get those 2 spots, and the other 2 will resign in december. With 5 freshmen WR's on the roster already, I wouldn't look for levy nor vaughan to get those last two spots.... even though they should both qualify, though you never can tell when dealing with the clearinghouse.

I wasn't counting Jerry....

1. Powe - who freaking knows?
2. Johnson - will be here anyday
3. Levy - should clear
4. Vaughn - will clear
5. McPhadden

McPhadden is the only one not going to make for sure. If any of them get qualified, whether they greyshirt and resign or whatever that's a far cry from his case. My point is how wrong he was in declaring half our class wouldn't even make it (Walker, McCluster, Cornell, Summers, etc., etc., etc. all those he knew they weren't no way gonna make it! HE HOPED! He didn't know shat!) and we are probably gonna end up with more qualifiers than we can sign! He's full of it, as proven time and again...
