I broke the ice myself yesterday. I expected to finish last but I exceeded my expectations.....I tied for last. :D . Seriously, I havent had an adrenaline rush like that in a long time. Was still shaking 5 mins after.

But it was fun and I'll be prepared next time. I wanted to say thanks to all of you I met in the warm up room, I think you are all a bunch of stand up guys.

I gotta say this, I think GH22 was right. He knew his "A" game wasnt with him so why try to force it. Now, that I've gotten my feet wet, I know I won't go up there without being as perfect as I can be.
My hunting partner is Mr. Murphy. You're proboably familiar with his law.

I'll have to say that I've never heard one wench that sounded like a duck, no matter who was blowing it, didn't matter if it was poly, wood or acrylic.

Antonio went over to the Primos booth and blew their calls, and he then went into his pocket and pulled out his rnt to show them what a duck sounded like.

This weekend was a blast! Hung out with Josh Raggio, stayed with his grandmother, and got to meet his family. I don't know if you can find any better people on the planet than the Raggio clan. Class A all the way. I was actually partners with Josh on one team and he also called David. We got cut and he won it with David. I guess you can tell who the weak link on our team was!

It was a whole lot of fun and I came back to Bama wanting to put waders on even if it's still 100 degrees. I blew a new duck call about 3 of the 4 hours on the trip back home. I guess I'm getting better. I know I'm getting more deaf by the month! Watched a duck huntin' DVD tonight and now basically worthless!

Hung out with some really nice guys from Echo and had a blast with them. It's amazing what a newbie like me can learn about hunting and calling just hanging around people that do it for a living. Shameless plug for Echo here: They make a heckuva good sounding call.

Also, I saw this awesome new camo patter that will be released this year. It's called "Longleaf" and it's actually designed by Eddie Leroy, a nationally known wildlife artist. It looks exactly like a photo of a stand of trees. He is a patient of mine and has won all kinds of artist competitions including state duck and turkey stamp print contests. The website is Longleafcamo.com. Amazing pattern so check it out.

Hate I didn't meet anyone from Ducksouth but then again, I wasn't walking around asking screen names from anyone either. Next year maybe some of us can get together for dinner or drinks at some point.

Man, I'm still hearing comeback calls ringing in my head!

Oh yeah, the 2nd place team on 2 man was a really good team and they are gonna win a lot of contests. Antonio was cracking jokes in the warm up room like crazy. I thought I was gonna loose it when he started up about his lips blowing of the side of the call like a flat tire! Halarious!

I guess everybody on this board knows Ronnie and Josh.

Both great guys. Used to hunt with both of those guys several times each year. As many times as Ronnie has blown at the contest he should have gotten the win just because he has come in second so many times.
