Here is a link to the new Browning Silver. I don't think many people know about it yet, but it is a fine looking gun if nothing else.

http://www.browning.com/products/catalo ... ype_id=353

The listed retail on the Browning site is about $300 less than the Gold and to me the Silver is a better looking gun. Of course I will take quality and features over looks everytime.

I've only had experience with.......
  • Browning Gold
  • Benelli Super 90
The Gold is more solidly built and heavier. Anne shoots her Gold somewhat better than the Benelli because it tracks better (even though she is a spot shooter). She use the Gold exclusivley unless she's walking-in to the hunting spotand hunts with it on the dove field.

The Benelli (to me) is lighter and therefore is quicker, but I don't shoot it well in some situations because it tends to be a little 'pointy'. I switched to the Super 90 after shooting an A-5 Magnum for several years, so it was quite a change on the 'balance' thing.

The Benelli is 'butt-light' whereas the Gold sits better between your hands.

But as far as realiability.....we haven't had any problems with either gun......and we generally don't clean them very often......just after the season, or when we do a lot of field hunting where grass can get in there.

So, I'm going to recommend (of the two I've mentioned and actually have shot) the Gold over the Benelli......for durability, flawless function, and it's ability to shoot the lighter loads as well.[/list]

Have the Beretta Extrema(not the 2). Shot it all last season with no problems what so ever. I love the gun for ducks, turkeys and what ever might pass in front of the barrel.
Going to shoot some skeet this afternoon to get warmed up for teal season coming up soon.
Can't freaking wait!! Football and duck season getting so close I can smell it.

GET THE EXTREMA!! 8)

I've got a SBEI and a II....I love the way the 2 feels and shoots...The thing jams pretty regularly with the 3.5 duck loads...It spits out the 2 3/4 dove loads a lot better. I'm gonna take it to Swanns tomorrow..My buddy who shoots the extrema II never has any problems...It's just too long for me..

What brand shells have you tried in the SBEII that Jam.......I had jams with the Sportsmen Remington and Kents but the Winchester Supremes shot a case and a half thru no trouble 3.5 and any dove love I throw at it.. Kind of a pisser........I just can't get with the Extremas but there's several in the club and they are spoken highly of.

Lots of 3.5" guns have trouble with shells with a "deep crimp" like the PMC steel shells. Something about the tag end of the crimp makes lots of guns (brand does not matter) hang up when chambering an unfired shell.

I have had to same problem with my SBE. It will hang a shell about once a hunt.
