Duckmen, the season is when you are supposed to put the wear and tear on body and truck. The rest of the year is is there for you to recover. Just because it lasts 60 days does not mean you have to hunt 60. You can take a break every now and then. Just time the breaks to coincide with warm fronts. The posts I remember from last year seemed to revolve around a desire to shorten the season and lower the limits to get extra duck hunters out of the hunting grounds.

Good point.......here's a thought, though. If it had been a shorter season, folks of all levels of devotion may have felt more urgency to concentrate on hunting just ducks during that 30-day period, putting more pressure on the birds while they're here. 'NOT GOOD!

Maybe a longer season will relax the 'frenzy' to concentrate on 'hunting' just ducks. We'll see soon enough, I suppose.

Anatidae,
That is a good point. If we could just get all these yahoos who think they know what they are doing to stop we would be even better.

Hehe, I'm afraid if everyone who thought they knew what they were doing, stopped hunting, we would all be sitting at the house. Ducks made a fool outta me many a time. :)

Me too, 'Wingman'!.....'specially last season!

'Ducman77'...........I've always thought a good 'hunter' should feel threatened least of all, by another hunter (regardless of what 'kind' you might think he IS).......because you either learn how to avoid them, or jump into the 'fray'. Figure-out how to use those 'Yahoo's' to your advantage and you'll develop a greater tolerence for them. (Granted, that's easier said than done, sometimes.) Key off of their mistakes......the same ones we made when we started-out.

Thanks for your response.

Another thought.........if it weren't for 'yahoo's', the rest of us might've been less inspired to achieve a higher level of proficiency, nor would we have developed an appreciation for our duck hunting heritage.

Sure......one way to appear 'great' is to surround yourself with mediocrity, but that won't get you very far, in life......or duck hunting.
