When is the season going to be set?

Do you think the limit will be reduced by a duck like they did in Arkansas.

I was glad to see them "voluntarily" reduce the limit from 6 to 5 ducks, and 4 to 3 Mallards with only 1 being a hen. That shows that we are not a bunch of bloodthirsty killers but rather duck hunters are people who treasure the resouce and are indeed, true conservationists. I hope Mississippi follows Arakansas' lead.

It seems to be kind of trendy to want reduced seasons, limits, no hens etc. but I've read enough and had enogh of it. Damn, I'm ready for cold weather and a damn duck hunt people.

What difference did the limits make last year? Going over the limit was the farthest thing from my mind last season.

If I happen to stumble upon the right place at the right time PLEASE don't make me go home one duck early. Yea, I could unload my gun and stay etc. etc. barf.

While it's not Mississippi, Alabama has set its dates already. They didn't reduce the bag limits (thank you).

Alabama Season

DUCK, COOT, MERGANSER: (except pintail and canvasback) November 28 - January 26

PINTAIL December 28 - January 26

CANVASBACK CLOSED

Bag Limits - Duck: 6 ducks a day and may include no more than 4 mallards (no more than 2 of which may be females). 2 wood ducks, 3 mottled ducks, 1 black duck, 2 redhead, 1 pintail (during open season only), and 3 scaup. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Merganser: 5 a day, only 1 may be a hooded merganser. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit.

Coot: 15 a day - 30 in possession

Shooting Hours -- One-half hour before Sunrise to Sunset.

I expect MS to go with the USFWS recommendations. Maybe. Maybe not.
I would be surprised if we took anything less than the recommended mallard limit. I have been surprised before though.
