I guess if you are going to start threads where the only source is an internet rumor, then there should probably be one about Ole Miss getting a LOI from the NCAA over recruiting violations.

Some of my MSU and LSU buddies have been telling me that Ole Miss has had seven different schools contact the SEC and NCAA officials concerning recruiting violations.

At the time I first posted it, the info appeared to have some validity since it came from an Alabama board. And it involved a specific person with respect to a specific topic. And I indicated the source. And afterward, when it appeared to not have much substance, I went back and edited the subject line and explained such in the thread.

About the only other thing I could do would be to delete it, which I will do. But, since someone had already responded to the initial post, I thought it fair to explain rather than initially delete.

As far as your criticism, I think it is unwarranted. Yes, I made a mistake and jumped the gun on something that may turn out to be true, but for now does not appear to have much real substance other than speculation. And I admitted it ---unlike someone else I know who starts threads based on rumors not even involving a specific coach, but speculating on who some unamed coach may be, all based upon the musings of a sports writer with an anti-UM agenda, with no specific reference to any sources. Pot, meet kettle. Some of us have the character to admit errors and apologize. Others do not.

If you guys want to discuss UM rumors, then start your own thread. I have not heard anything about anyone at UM receiving a LOI. According to many conspiracy theorists, Robert Khayatt has had a LOI on his desk now for over 5 years. Knock yourselves out.

You posted a rumor from an internet message board. It is what it is, and I called you out on it.

As for your "unwarranted criticism" comment, I posted an article from a newspaper. Regardless of the authors "agenda," I'd still say its more "valid" than something from TiderInsider, which happens to be the biggest group of homers on the internet. You'd probably fit right in over there if you were a Bama fan.

I haven't made any "errors" and I'm not "apologizing" for linking an article and putting a funny picture of your meathead coach. Get off your high horse.
