Major League Baseball is one of the hardest major league sports organizations to reach the "pro" level. None of the others have a minor/lower level that one must make it through prior to reaching the "show". The only thing that the recruits will be guaranteed is their signing bonus. For MLB draftee's their yearly pay only comes after they meet a minimum requirement of days at the pro level. I am not 100% certain, but it is somewhere in the 21 to 28 consecative days at the pro level. So, normally a minor leaguer will drop down before this day unless their pro affiliate has no other choice or plans to keep them up.

its not the days there are there in a row, but they have to meet a certain number of games played in a season, u could go up and down all year long but as long as u meet x number of games u can get the league minumum which is somewhat over 250000 if im right

Nope, NBA finally changed the rule, main reason that Monta Ellis went ahead and went pro last year instead of coming to MSU.

Wrong its not 21, its 19, They can't not be drafted out of high school, its basically a one year rule. Nothing prevents them from playing a year in the NBADL either. It is not until they are 21, thats the NFL and its been upheld by the the Supreme Court, ask Maurice Clarrett.

All these high school stars that signed this year will bolt after this basketball season in addition to the already growing number of underclassmen cutting out. Teams that sign all these McDonlads something and anothers and not teams are going to get burned 9 out of ten times and never really win jack $#!+.

The rule wasn't to help colleges, it was a league imposed rule that helps teams from wasting a 1st round pick for some hs star that fizzles like a wet firecracker but still getting all that jack. It cause the teams themselves have no self control. Expect this to be revisting the next labor negotiations cause its going to be a cluster@#$%. They need the NFL rule but they didn't get it. The problem with the whole basketball world starts with AAU ball and all the sponsorship money thats involved.
