TN Area Folks

Postby MudHog » Thu Jun 01, 2006 2:12 pm

I'm looking to make the LSU vs. TN road game this coming season. Anyone have insights for that area? I hear parkin gis horrible at that stadium. We will have a camper to stay in. Do I need to bring my boat and travel by boat to the stadium?

Mudhog, have been to an LSU/Tn game by boat, it was an absolute blast. I have absolutely no memory recall of the events other than I was at the game and that LSU won. But I know we had a great time.

"We will have a camper to stay in. Do I need to bring my boat and travel by boat to the stadium?"

Camper will fit in nicely and help you pick up chicks. Make sure you stay in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or some other similar hee haw hellhole to get the full flavor of the UT gameday experience. Boating down the river to the stadium would be nice, but getting there from weazyanna might be a bit difficult and too adventureous, even for a mudsucking cajun. And watch out for River pirates named "Phil". Make sure you take yer banjo and best moonshine and tobacky fer makin friends. And some comfortable walking shoes and oxygen for the long walk to and high altitude of the upper deck of the stadium where they put the visitors. And if you love the Rocky Top song, you will be in luck --even the critters know the song. Yeeeeee haaaawwwwww!!!!!!

I went the last time they played up there. We just walked to the stadium. It was not that bad. But if you have a real bad booty boat I am pretty sure there are some back woods mountain girls that would put out for a ride on it.

No joke about the altitude I have never been more uncomfortable in my life than in that stadium. The friggin upper deck is straight up and down. If you don't like UT orange or Rocky Top be prepared to hate this trip because that chit is everywhere. :(

Be sure to Tiger bait those Vol fags for me.

I was going but a friend of mine is getting married that weekend in Baton Rouge damn him.

I haven't made TN before. I've been to Gainesville and AL. AL is a blast everytime we go. Last season was rowdy for us. Gainesville was a semi bad trip due to my company. Anyone take a chick with you and 95% of the time she's talking to he ex-b/f on the cellular device?

My boat isn't nothing special like a Mastercraft with a tower on it, but it's a 19' fishmaster bayboat that I could haul there. It's complete with tunes, a top and plenty of storage for adult beverages.

Last year at AL, the walk to the stadium was a good 2-4 miles. We made this trip a couple times as that's where the strip was.

So there is actually a stadium worse than the upper deck at Death Valley? Those seats make you feel like your sitting straight up and don't you even think about what would happen if you trip coming down the stairs.

Not trying to be an ahole but these guys have multi-million dollar yachts.

It has been a long time since I sat in the upper deck at Tiger stadium. Luckly our seats are on the 11th row but I think UT's upper deck is much worse. Hope you are not afraid of heights.

Mudhog, when we went, we were in a 55' Sportfisher. (A freind of a freind that ran up there from the coast). There is a TON of big boats out there, more than likely you will get lost with the fishmaster out there. However I am a big fan of the whole boat thing, wish we could do it at Tiger Stadium. On a plus the Ten tom up there is just some beautiful scenery, natural vistas, and when you get to the game a whole lot of other scenery. Our boat was kinda like girls gone wild when we went.
As far as the upper deck, yes I think it is worse than Death Valley. I know that seems to be hard to believe, but I think it is.

well damn, yall got me thinking about bringing the 14' flat with the duck blind attached to it. :D :D :D

If I do bring a boat there, it would be something road worthy to tow. Not going to drive it all the way up there by water. Have access to some larger boats, but nothing road worthy to tow w/o a permit or escort. May end just just being a land lover.

Not afraid of heights and actually enjoy them. Last time I went to TN, I wasn't impressed with the Smokey "Mountains", but this is coming from someone that vacationed every year in the Rockies all through grade school. Shall see what they like again.

Jeff, do yall fish the Tarpoon Rodeo at Grand Isle?

What kind of parking is available around the stadium or close by? Is there any visitor pay parking lots? This is how we do it in AL. There's a lot with home and visitors and you pay to park. DHC Foundation if I remember correctly. Large paved parking lot full of campers and rvs. Anyone have any phone numbers to contact local for reserved parking?
