Rebs Steamroll Tigahs 12 - 1 in Game 2 of SEC Tourney

Postby Po Monkey Lounger » Fri May 26, 2006 6:19 am

Big Win for the Rebs. :D Hosting a Regional now looking more likely.

Rebs will get to rest today. Still have a couple of starters we have not used at all, and Kline should be ready to pitch again if we make it to Sunday. The table is set for a big run. Can the Rebs do it?

Looks like the Rebs have turned the corner into the new "gorilla ball" team in the SEC, surpassing LSU in that regard. We generally seem to need more than 5 runs per game to win, and have been getting the runs for the most part. But, how long can it last?

No, but that's baseball!

Bless their hearts.

Hey, this is small ballpark.

High expectations are bad.

Lot's of fans can be intimidating.

A couple of quotes from the SEC tourney:

Jeff Robinson of the Ole Miss Spirit who is in Hoover covering the Rebels : "Ole Miss fans outnumbered both Arkansas and LSU fans greatly in games one and two. There were probably 1,000 Ole Miss fans for game one and some 1,500 for game two. Those numbers will surely grow now that the Rebels don't play again until Saturday at 1:30 p.m."

Mark Wright: "The crowds and the atmosphere help you play your best. We get hyped up for big crowds. That's what we look forward to."

A good showing so far by the Rebs. The 2-0 start is the best start the Rebs have ever had in the tournament since it went to the double elimination format with only 8 teams.

Maybe Hoover is not such a bad place after all. I've changed my mind --leave the SEC tourney at Hoover in B'ham.
