Football recruiting --early commits
Moderator: Sports Forum Mods
i saw where one of your early commitments. de committed to um and and made an early committment to msu..
po monk.. i've said all along why in the fluck would any good player early committ to an sec bottom feeder such as um or msu..
the only way i could see this as a possibility was if the kids we were offering didn't think they could do any better..
or if they were just telling the coaches whatever they wanted to hear so they'd quit buggin'em..
or if there were true die-hard fans of said institution!!!

Bigwater, who was that? the only decommit so far that I was aware of committed to LSU (Ridley).
GH22, you are correct. Co-Eric (I like that name for some reason) was the 12th early commit for MSU. I counted him in my figures, even though Scout did not have him on the commit board yet.
Now GH22, what is the deal? I thought you said earlier in this thread that these early commits were no big deal, etc. Now that MSU is about to lead the pack, you still feel that way? Or are MSU's early commits more "special" than every one else's?

Co-eric is a talented player... he also had an offer from us, I will say this, MSU recruiting has picked up since melvin smith came back to town....
Now, croom signed 2 JUCO recievers last year, and I understand that this may be a "need" position for the dogs, but, croom doesn't need to slip into the same deal jackie did signing lots of JUCO's at the same position every year. Again, i understand that he needed to boost the depth chart with someone who can make immediate impact, so i can understand getting riley, who has potential to be a great player. We're only going to sign 2 wr's this year most likely since we signed 4 last year, hopefully 2 high schoolers, though there is another juco wr on our radar who is a heck of a talent, also has an offer from USC.

At times there is not a satisfactory substitute for well-aimed lead going down range at high velocity.
