Sunflower question on plates for JD air planter

What is the bes type of plate to you use on JD air planters for sunflowers ?

I have used both cotton plates and corn plates. Last year I used corn plates with a transmission setting of 20-27 and it came out to about 9# per acre. Be sure to count your seed per foot.

man i aint no professional farmer but i gots a john deer number 51 2 row planter and i use my corn plates to plant sunflowers and of course da corn and it does fine :) that might not be of any help but my 2-cents :roll: good luck!

they make a seed disk for sunflowers. Otherwise use the smallest corn plate you have and LOW vacuum. I shoot for 23K seeds per acre.
