WMA open meeting in Jackson
This post started with bad information that has mislead many people, more people than replied to the post.
I’ll be brief and to the point.
A $50 WMA permit fee may be one person’s idea, but it is not the MDWFP’s idea. We are appreciative of the current WMA fee and have no expectations to increase it any time soon.
Last week at the public hearing, there was a common theme of the duck hunters there who made public comments asking/recommending for a shot shell restriction and a ban on spinning wing decoys.
I appreciate those hunters who attended the meeting and made comments. There is still time to make comments on any issue you would like. It is best to write a letter containing your suggestions. If you don’t want to write a letter, send an e-mail or call. Letters can be sent MDWFP, Attn: Larry Castle, 1505 Eastover Dr, Jackson, MS 39211. I would also suggest copying the letter to Ron Seiss and Scott Baker. To send an e-mail, go to MDWFP.com and click on “Contact Usâ€. If you would rather place a phone call, call 601-432-2300. Once again, a letter is best because copies of it can be distributed and placed in a folder.
Thank you for your support.

That just goes to prove there are alot of lurkers watching this site.
Yes I already posted that it was misleading. This was something a group of us talked about after the meeting to see what kind of reaction we would see on the site.
Although all the things posted was part of the meeting they were and will not be final unless the commission adopts them which is what I already stated.
I pushed for two years for the department to get the now existing permit fee. I personally have no problem with it going up should the time come that it is truly needed and accepted. It is for a good for all. And it was others that suggested it not me. I only threw it out there to get the reaction I did
the commison has decided the following:
a hit has been ordered on the duckmen. (fear of them becoming to powerful).
faggots are now allowed to hunt all restricted areas. gotta be p.c.
booger pickers are allowed to skip in line at boat ramps.
illegal immagratns can contiune to serve as bird boyz. and nut wahsers
and finally wood duck season will be opened tommrow and run to enternity.. with the limit being all you can f'n tote
these are the rules i haveth spoken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone hear the call in show the other day when someone called in saying they got an email saying the permit dues were going up to $50.00..
BAWAHAHAHAHA it is just too funny how stuff gets passed around. But then this is just a forum right. Nothing is taken serious.
Bigwater What I proposed is the same as that adopted in Ark.
I won't us to reduce the limit to 3 Mallards.
I also call the the men in charge and told them I post this on the forum and all were excited that they are raising the fees and banning spinners.
And because there was so much agreement to the changes that they should really consider them.
I also heard that you will be required to take at least one coot before you can take a mallard on all WMA's starting next year. (man I can't wait to hear that call in)
Always faithful Your Pal Dan....

After reading this entire thread, I now fully realize why people think the way they do about Mississippi in general.
Thankfully, Scott came along and set the record straight.
Cheers,
RRW
P.S. For the record, I do not agree with a $50 user fee for access to public land nor the $15 fee (for that matter) until it can be clearly demonstrated that at least >80-90% of those funds are put back into on-the-ground habitat improvements for our wildlife resources.

You finally realize do you? It is apparent to me that by your words you are a taker and just like the rest of the country takers are everywhere. What is entertaining is that I made a post to get a rise from the people on this board and for the most part they didn’t take the bait. Fact is they most agreed. Yet you come on here and label all in a bad light because I started a jab post. And you now realize why people think of us in a certain way. BAWAHAHAHAHA
Scott most likely had to come on this board because lurkers and people like you started calling and crying about the fee going up. Chances are you even cried over the beloved Spinner. Scott is my friend and he just set the record straight so people would stop asking the stupid questions. I had already set it straight and you would have known that if you had really read the entire post.
You can dog me for what you consider a post in bad taste but your way off in left field putting the rest of these boys in that group.
Maybe you should take a look in the mirror before you start making accusations.
But then that wouldn’t be near as fun would it?
Cheers back to ya..
PS. I don't give a crap what they use the money for as long as it is good for the department/MWA's and it always has been in the past. I wish they would go to 100.00 fee. That way the takers will go somewhere else.
HEY DUCK pass me the bubbles.

Everybody's a pimp on the net. But Randy really does know a thing or two about ducks. Possibly, nay, even probably, more than the great Msduckmen. He hunts ducks so that his dog can pick up a couple and he's happy with that. Hardly the image that comes to my mind when conjuring up spinner loving "takers." Bottom line, if you're gonna make jokes, don't forget to laugh.
