Postby jkb87 » Thu Apr 06, 2006 11:44 am

i was wondering, with all the talk on here all the time, im surprised this hasnt come up yet, or at least to my knowledge.
what did everyone think of this new show and what do ya think bout the whole thing in general anyway...........to me, its not real hard to look at pictures from players past and and look at them now.........on the other hand........some of them are hard to figure out.........to me anyway......what do ya think???????
If it wasn't for bad luck then i would have no luck at all........

I don't care what Barry Bonds does, I stopped watching major league baseball when Harry Carey pasted away.

You wouldn't think it but steriods are really prevalent in college baseball today. Arkansas lost their top two starters last season due to steriod use.

Get this, they both singed free agent contracts weeks after their dismissal from the team and are playing minor league ball, and the stuff they got banned for is on the NCAA list but bought at GNC, so theres growth products and then the illegal stuff thats truly outlawed, the stuff Barry used not creatine.

that is a good point, there are things that are not allowed that can be bought at gnc...........but still, steriods in college baseball today are still a big factor..............

Enhancement drugs have been in effect for years. Unlike what a lot of folks are saying on these call in radio sports programs that I listen to, I do not point the blame at the head honcho's of Major League Baseball. Before yelling at me let me say this; on several occasions during the Union contracts over the past years MLB asked for steroid testing. It was the Union that fought to have steroid testing removed from the MLB/Players Association contract. Now, this being said, MLB/Team Owners could have said "No, this we will not stand for. No testing, no contract." Well, that, as we know, did not happen as well.

I really do not know why so many "non-players" are so surprised that he [Barry Bonds], and many other players, is suspected of taking enhancing drugs. Look at these guys! They are reaching 40 years of age, yet have a body that would be envied by MANY mid twenty year olds. Look at the stats as well. Go and look at the record books and all of the past homerun hitters in the record books came no where close to hitting 70+ homeruns at the age of 37. Without the use of enhancing drugs, it will never been done again.

So, am I surprised that he [Barry Bonds] and other baseball players are suspected of taking enhancing drugs? Not in the least bit! I am just aggravated at so many spectators treating him [Barry Bonds] the way they are. Come on, when he, Sosa and Mark McGuire were slamming homeruns they were all cheering and fighting to see them achieve these feats. Now these same people want to have them admonished. Please, oh PLEASE do not sit there and tell me that you [fans], the Players Association and Major League baseball did not know that these individuals were using enhancing drugs!

McGuire, Sosa and Barry Bonds brought fans to the games, even in towns where their local team was not doing so well, yet you [fans] came out to see, or hoped to see, a monstrous homerun. Fans’ coming to the game brings money to the pockets of the owners, Major League Baseball, players and players association. More fans mean more money and we all know...MONEY TALKS!

I am not saying that what any of the individuals has done was right. Put an asterisk beside their names and accomplishments, and let the game play on.

good read, alot of good points, the only thing i dont see be able to happen is puttin a * by the names, because until u have rock solid facts that the accused have taken roids, then u cant do that, yes i know pictures can say alot, but dont put a * by bonds name at 73 until u can prove it, and i know he has taken them, but in all sports so many have taken it that has got some sort of records..............

Don't put an * by anybody's name except the ones that have been caught since the testing began. Steroids might be a narcotic but MLB never tested for it so they can not prove it now. Even if they can, was it banned by MLB?

If you put an * by anybody's name make it Palmerio he failed after the tests began.

Whether MLB tested for it or not, it was and still is a banned substance within the boundaries of the United States.

MLB does not test for hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD, but they too are illegal. So, by what you two are saying is that as long as MLB does not test for it, then it is OK for the players to use the substances even though the substances are banned in the United States.

If you want facts read "Game of Shadows". Let me tell you, it is all there and is a good read.

I am not blaming Barry or any of the other players for taking enhancement drugs. Bigger numbers means bigger bucks for both the players and the owners. If I were in their shoes, I can't say that I would not have done the same thing.

Steroids in College Baseball......they have random testing during the season, and once the SEC toutnament, Regional Tournament, and College World Series starts most all players get tested......so how do they pass the test. Only players on teams that suck are taking them?
