As stated before the 50.00 is just my suggestion. Nothing is final.

Monkey the way I see it I will take what I can when I can. If we can stop the spinners on WMA's the state may follow. You have to start some where. All I have heard from people the last 4 years is how the spinners are not as good as they use to be. Well if that is the case people using them on private land will keep the birds in the WMA's and refuges.

You guys want to know where the money went from last year? Well ask SB what he did with his money? Ask him if it helped him get the planting done. Fuel for the heavy equipment. Ask Wingman what people in his area did with the funds.
Write letters asking for how the money was used and where. It is public they have to produce it. You guys don’t have a clue on what impact we as a group can make if we unite and work together in helping the MDWF.

It is so easy to sit here on a forum and complain about not seeing anything. When and where were you when input was needed? Ask yourself what you can do to help make a difference. (Then start doing it)

Dan, I can understand the mindset of take what you can get, when you can, with respect to the proposed WMA spinner ban, but why stop with the WMAs? Of course, I already know part of the answer. The MDWF&P can ban the spinners on WMAs without legislative action ----the dept. regulates the WMAs and can set the restrictions on it. Thus, this proposed partial ban is easy, in that sense. And the legislative session for this year is over. There won't be a special session to ban spinners.

All I know is this ---having a spinner ban on WMAs, but not on private property, for the 2006-2007 season is going to be problematic for many ---- with fairness being a large part of the discontent. If this comes to pass, the folks with the MDWF&P best be ready to advocate STRONGLY and even INSIST on a statewide spinner ban during the 2007 legislative session. I don't want to see any crawfishing or fence sitting on this type of legislation by the dept., the director, Lynn Posey, and others. If they are committed to a spinner ban, then be committed to one statewide for all.

I could give a flying $#!+ if they dont spend it on any improvements on any of the WMA's....they need to first give the guys in green a raise...a significant raise....(except for the young dumbass who gave me a ticket on a jet ski 2 summers ago...i was ideling in a no wake zone...he said i had a wake....oh yeah, and my first time on a jet ski too...he should have gotten a ticket...)....other than him they should get a raise...my uncle is twice my age and has been a game warden for 29 years....im 5 years out of college and make 2.5 times what he does.....and over the years he has been shot at....lost a finger in an accident....tacks in his driveway....deer heads put in his mailbox, and the house where his wife and kid play has been shot at intentionally hundreds of times....

OOSer's should pay 100, if not more...if im not mistaken, OOSer's pay 100 in arkansas for their WMA's...not to mention their license...

they should put a limit on the shells at 15-20....

spinners and any electronic decoy for ducks should be outlawed nationwide public or private...

i also believe they should make it an 8 point rule on all public deer hunting lands....if i see another tiny 4 or 6 point with a 10 inch spread on the back of a 4 wheeler while im leaving the duck hole im going to puke....

hell, if you guys dont like the current WMA restrictions or overcrowdness, go buy a boat and hunt public waterways....better hunting...no crowd....and you can do whatever the hell you want...

just my 2 cents...

Official word I got today is that NONE of these suggestions are final. The Commission will have to decide on anything before it passes.

Where did these suggestions come from? I guess that is more of my question.

Thanks,

This year the new WMA changes are as follows.

I think that statement was a little misleading. I took it to mean those changes were accepted and would be implemented this coming season. However, I think MSDuckmen meant they were suggestions, not official changes.

Yeah it was misleading.

The commission has to approve any changes and their weeks away from making any if any are going to be made.

These were simply what a group of people purposed to the department. Same as last year when the other suggestions were passed.
