Gumbo,

He reminds me of Peterson at OU more than Bush. I guess because of his size. He is crazy good and mean at the same time. I said last year he was the best in the SEC (Irons at Auburn is good too) and I think he will be even better this year. The big fullback ya'll have (#22 I think) is fun to watch also. It is not real often you see a 6'2" 240 lb. fullback returning punts.

Reggie Bush is a freak of nature. I will not use the cliche' "once in a lifetime" because I don't think he is that. Bo Jackson is probably the only once in a lifetime athlete I can really remember, hence the "once" in a lifetime.

Bush is really unique. Did you see his pro day workout numbers? He ran a 4.33 forty and had a 40 inch verticle leap. Several players every year have similar numbers but he seems to be able to utilize these amazing athletic traits better than the rest. I bet he can cover forty yards and stop in 4.8 seconds (similar to cars being tested at 0 to 60 to 0). He starts and stops so fast.

McFadden is more of a upright, tall runner similar to Eric Dickerson. I think he has more power or runs with more authority than ED. Nutt needs to be careful not to run him into the ground too. Peterson at OU was utilized too much IMO and it resulted in injuries and a sophomore slump of sorts.

Heres the skinny on some of whats been going on during this spring practice. D-Mac is on his game full tilt. Our new OC has discovered that D'Mac has incrediable hands( I've personally witness two onehanded snags). This makes him all that much more dangerous. #22 FB Hillis has reported to spring about 15 pounds lighter and is a step faster, its real obvious, he is stoked about the new ofensive sets thats slowly being introduced. Whether it makes a difference is yet to be seen, but this ain't going to be the same ol' Hog team yall've seen the past two seasons. Its got three legit palymakers on offensive with a system thats being shaped around them and their attributes, not doing the best with what The Testicle called. They started closed practice yesterday with it only being open to a few media types, and by all accounts are installing more complicated offensive sets. Scrimmage is open this Sat, but the white bass are about to start they're run to spawn, decisions, decisions

White bass? Are you kidding me? Not that spring football should really be any sort of huge priority, but seriously, don't they even have a few turkeys or crappie in that God forsaken part of the world?

I got crappie in the freezer still, but with the recent rains it likes like I'll have my ass in some of these God Foprsaking Wolrd Class Smallmouth Bass Rivers we have up here. I'm going turkey hunting next weekend.

Oh, and i'd rather be catfishing.

Gumbo, I try to make it to North Arkansas and fish the Norfork, White and Spring Rivers about three or four times a year. I love it up there. Fly fishing is pretty close to duck hunting on the enjoyment scale for me. We always camp at McClellan's Trout Dock in Norfork. Arkansas has plenty of turkeys too. Our alarm clock is typically turkeys gobbling.

I'm kinda blessed in a way, i married a girl whose roots are in Newton County, up on the Upper Buffalo. I have access to thousands of acres, and that doesn't include pubic, to hunt deer, elk (permit permitting), turkey, bear, squirrel, bobcat, coyotes, whatever. The new state record buck (220 something) taken last year was just a hop skip and jump from one of my stands Turkey is no challenge, i just got to get over there and pick two out. And if i just got the fever, i can go to OK and hunt another place I got access to. Man, I just happend to luck out in some regards.

Delta, I fish for smallies on Kings River north of 412. My boss has a cabin over there near where your talking about, i go over there some. Matt Jones bought his old cabin recently.
