Massive snake kill in oxford

Postby master guide » Wed Mar 22, 2006 12:13 pm

this weekend in oxford two men killed 379 cottonmouths in one spot. i would not have beleived it but saw actual photos of the snakes that they brought back home (165). their neighbor is fellow school teacher with my wife and took some snapshots of the snakes. they said they brought out what they could carry on their 4wheelers. the picture is pretty impressive. ther are some other photos of them somewhere on the internet. maybe somebody in oxford can find where to access them.

I got an email with the pics of a chit load of dead cottonmouths from a friend the lives in Oxford. That pile of dead snakes was enough to make MSDuckmen go balistic for killing God's creatures and Pondbuster and his croanies envious. I wish I could post the pics but don't know how. From the email I recieved, it said the great snake killin took place in Tallahatchie River bottom in Lafayette County.

I killed one on Saturday that tried to bite a curious dog; they were definitely out enjoying the nice weather.

It looks like they stumbled onto the pit of snakes from Indiana Jones and Raiders of The Lost Ark.

I would like to know how big the area was where they killed them.
