Deer hunting around Meridian?

Postby landscaper » Sat Aug 10, 2002 3:19 pm

Any of you Meridian guys know of any WMA's or national forest or farmers who need some deer herd management close by? I sure would like to find a place to start scouting within the next few weeks.

By the way, when is opening day of dove season this year? I've missed that somehow this time around.

land, can't help you much on the deer hunting around the Meridian area, but dove season starts on September 1st,which is on a Sunday and legal shooting hours don't start untill the afternoon on the first day of season. The rest of the season, you can hunt all day.Good luck with finding some deer hunting. There should be some real good deer clubs in that area that you might try to check out.

I woul dtry teh Co-op in the county you want to hunt in for any leads. You can find out what kind of activity the county has by looking on the state wildlife dept. site. Good Luck!
