I know some of you have to be deer hunters also, so I thought you all would like to see a shot that I took while on vacation last week.

I live an 1.5 hours from Cades Cove, and I have seen deer there three times that size. Its neat how you can get so close to those deer. I have a photo of a doe licking the palm of my hand out my truck window. Great photo MS Photoman!!!!!!

A neighbor of mine goes up there and takes wildlife photos. One of them was in last years MDWFP calendar.

OMG blacklab! That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that deer too.

My wife and I stopped there for some day hiking on our way to North Carolina. It started raining as soon as we reached the trailhead, so we pulled off of the road to watch the deer in the big field while we waited the storm out. There were about ten of them and they all had huge racks. I actually happened to have two pair of binoculars in the truck with me so we could see them really well.

On the hike out, we saw a couple of black bear cubs. First time I've seen a bear outside of a zoo.

Great picture!

My wife and I went there (gatlingburg) on our honeymoon last year (mid-December). I had heard bout cades cove from several people so I just had to go. Man it was sooo cool, the rut was in full swing!!! We had several does cross the road in front of us. My wife was wondering why I stopped after they had already crossed the road. I told her just be patient, a min or two later here would come ole big boy, mouth wide open, blowing smoke, trying to keep up w/the ladies.
Man I fell in love with that place!! Everyone should go at least once.
