Lifejackets

Postby Haymaker » Tue Aug 06, 2002 10:55 am

I am planning on purchasing one of those lightweight life jackets that is suposed to be comfortable enough to hunt in. The jackets that I am looking at are Type III and have the floatation around the waist, come in various camo patterns and have a thin pad on the right shoulder like a shooting vest would. The ones that I have been looking at run around $40. I was wondering if anyone on here has worn these jackets while they have been hunting and if so, how much did it restrict movement, etc.? I figure wearing one would probably be a good idea since I do most of my hunting out of a boat and regular lifejackets are too bulky to wear while hunting.

Thanks in advanced,

Darrell

I bought some Stearns lifevests from Wal-mart for $27. They are very comfortable in that the flotation material is very thin and nonintrusive. It's not camo but comes in a "marsh brown" color that blends in well. Check them out.
