Cost of a good trip?

Postby Greenhead22 » Fri Aug 02, 2002 12:47 pm

Dad and I went to La. last season for a few days. Hunted two days with a outfitter service, $250/gun. So that was $1000 right off, and I did all of the guiding myself.

Probably that was the fee for allowing them to hunt on their private land. Don't know, tweren't there....just a guess. We used to have puddlers by the thousands in north Florida. They don't have any reason to come here anymore. Too much state, federal, DU, etc., places to stop before the get here, so sometimes we pay to go where they are.

I posted a thread on 8/1 about the Whisling Wings show. In the post GH22 asked about who would use that guide service and I listed the costs involved for me to come to MS for 3 days. Basically, it costs me about $1000.00 if I bring my son. I was just wondering what you guys thought about the costs and if I was getting a fair shake.
