Croom's looking for a RB coach...

Postby Greenhead22 » Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:39 pm

since Freddie Kitchens accepted the tight ends coaching position with the Dallas Cowboys today.

I say move McCorvey to RB and get an OC, which won't change because we are being hardheaded in refusing to make adjustments to the WCO.

Tell me you are kidding. I'm too lazy to even verify this.

I think MSU needs to hire Bigwater and Don Miller for the staff. Let Don coach the RBs, and make Bigwater the OC, in charge of implementing the "polecat offense". SEC football would never be the same.

And perhaps add GH22 as the water boy.

MSU football adds assistant

By Ian R. Rapoport
irapopor@clarionledger.com

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State has added Melvin Smith as an assistant coach on its football staff, spokesman Mike Nemeth confirmed.

Smith, a Magee native and Millsaps graduate, leaves his position as cornerbacks coach at Texas A&M, where he spent three seasons. His responsibilities at Mississippi State have yet to be determined.

The former MSU assistant from 1995-2001, Smith has never coached running backs. That is the position that became available when running backs coach Freddie Kitchens left to take a job with the Dallas Cowboys.

Smith, who has earned a reputation as a stellar recruiting, is a 23-year veteran in the coaching business. He also coached at Ole Miss from 1992-94. He was not immediately availabe for comment.

i've been in regular contact with coach c. over the last two years regarding the implementing of the "pole cat" offense..

he has personally assured me that we haven't even scratched the surface as to how bad the pole cat can be..

his words to me were and i quote.. you think it's been bad, wait until you see how we fair without norwood
"Ya ever work beef Billy?"
