the thing i hate worst is when a hunt is ruined by dogs. There is nothing wrong with dog hunting, I enjoy doing it myself, but if the owner can't keep the dog off my land and I find the dog.... guess what i just got a new dog. You obviosly don't value you dog very much if he is just roaming the woods. The owner of the dog should be fined the same for his dog tresspassing as he would be fines for tresspassing.

there sure is alot of people on here talkin about killing dogs and stealing dogs. camo up and hoytusa (shoot first find the owner later, guess what i got a new dog ) man yall sound like some fine people that are taking up the good cause of defended still hunters if i still hunted all the time i would'nt wanted yall taking up for me. i agree there are some bad seeds in the dog hunting world that cause problems for everybody that runs dogs. but there are some bad seeds in the still hunting world too. as for me if i catch a man shooting or stealing my dog a game warden is not going to be the one to call its going to be the county shierff for assault with the intent to kill. cause a man that steals or kills a dog aint much of a man. u always wreep what u sow ! hillhunter said it right the soulution is to get the game warden in on it and let him do his job. with all the animal lovers in the world there can be some heavy fines for crulty to animals.

the ole classic "if you don't let me do as I please I'll burn your woods down".......EXACTLY what I was referring to. I don't advocate shooting dogs - in fact I hate the thought of it. What I hate more is somone who feels that they can make a threat to burn woods down. That must be the rogue dog hunter's only line of recourse...

this is the kind of thing antihunters love to hear . they want us to get mad at each other then when they get dogs banned then whats next .they come after hunters all together . first it's dogs then hunting then our guns next. take a look around and read the newspaper every day somebody is talking about banning guns and hunting. as for me they can get mine when they pull it from my cold dead fingers !!!!!! guys this is always be a debate stillhunters vs dog runners and it will always be one i enjoy doing both. but when people start talking about killing and stealing dogs its not going to be a pretty site all the way around for everybody envoled. the first thing it will be in all in the papers and news and thats what the antihunters want. one question though if some dogs ran a 150 class buck across your land would you take a shot at it or say damn dogs i'm not going to shoot it cause dogs were running it . i dont think sooo

Doggystyle,

I blasted 3 $hiteaters this year and threw the tracking collars in the road. These roadhunters purposely turned them out on my private property. I didn't see any more of them after that. You road hunters talk a big game but when you are put in your place you just go find some other landowner to bully around until he calls your bluff.

I think the bottom line here is that some of the dog hunters in the state don't have adequate land to perform the hunt they love without disturbing stillhunters. If you really love to dog hunt then go find a club with enough or lease enough land to do this. There are many dog clubs in the state who welcome new members and have more than enough land to run. Please don't come at the landowners or leases with the mentality of "this is how I've hunted for twenty years." I myself love to hear dogs run, I don't do it on my land, but I have friends that I hunt with who have more than enough land to let dogs run (I would guess you need around 3000 continous acres at minimum) and I enjoy it. My favorite time of the year is rabbit season, half the time I don't even kill a rabbit but i love to hear those beagles burn one up. This is probably the same way a dog runner feels about deer hunting, so I'm not gonna trample his rights, but he sure as hell isn't gonna trample mine as a private landowner. Bottom line is don't expect anything good to come out if you have six walkers and forty acres to run them on unless your sure you can catch them. All I can do is catch your dogs and tell you to leave, but as soon as you park your truck on the side of the road all I need is a tag # and your ass is mine.....then they get a little lesson in trespassing 101.

and by the way kilemall if dogs run one across my land and he's in the 150 range, then bam ...he's goin down....hopefully.
