my personal experience--i figured that the larger pellets would kill cleaner than smaller sizes, but with fast steel and smaller pellet counts my gun left too many holes in the pattern at even 35-40 yds., so i switched to the same shells but in #3 shot, MUCH improvement--ducks shot going away at 40 yds. hitting the water DEAD--could be the extra pellet count was giving me central nervous system hits instead of just 1 large pellet in the body
you did put in the plug, right?

I use BB's and they are fine.
There's a reason it's called fishin'& huntin' instead of catchin'& killin'

I prefer #4 steel, but I only shoot up close. Them BB's will do the job, as long as you hit 'em.

something new

Postby Beldenreb » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:32 pm

I'm going to try a few Hevi-Steel in size 6. Hunter's Haven in Tupelo, MS actually got them to load some 31/2"s in size 6. I've patterned but I don't know about knockdown(how it compares to lead).
