Ole Miss get's 2016 commit
Bobby Johnson, a 3rd grader from Hillside Gammar School in Los Angles, CA. has committed to the Rebel's. According to Mrs. Mindlebright, Bobby's homeroom teacher, "he is by far the fastest kid on the playground and you should see him on the monkey bars, he is amazing." Coach O says, "With Bobby's speed and agility we think he will be the top DB or WR in 2016". "If he stays healthy, there is no doubt he will be a 1st round draft pick in 2020." Stay tuned for the latest developments in Ole Miss recruiting.

Yeah, with all the success and titles being won by UM and MSU over the last 30 years, we wouldn't want to try anything different or innovative with recruiting, would we?

Recruiting article from Orlando Sentinel:
Gators get jump on Lyman lineman
Florida Coach Urban Meyer brings 'Junior Days' into the recruiting mix.
Published February 5, 2006
Nobody can accuse Florida Coach Urban Meyer of not trying to stay ahead of the competition.
Last year, it was text messaging. This year, it is "Junior Days" and early scholarship offers.
Meyer and his staff got a jump on his rivals by technologically reaching out to the recruits last year. This time, there's nothing technical about his hustle to be the first to offer scholarships to junior standouts such as Lyman DT Ian Williams.
Williams, a 300-pounder who had 43 tackles for loss last fall, grew up a Florida State fan, Lyman Coach Bill Caughell said. "But he was excited and impressed with Meyer personally extending the offer. It will be tough to beat the Gators for him now," he said.
Meyer is bringing a new approach to recruiting to the South. And he had a chance to reap early benefits from the Gators' first "Junior Day" this weekend.
Junior Days -- a one-day camp where coaches and athletes can bond and the athletes can be weighed and measured for accurate dimensions -- are not new. Penn State's Joe Paterno pioneered them a decade ago, and Notre Dame had an extremely successful one last month.
One thing's for sure. No matter how successful Florida's rivals are in the recruiting process, what Meyer is doing not only bears watching but also repeating.
Junior talk
We already had reported that Nebraska made an early offer to Jones DE Jay Howard (6-4/230) and UCF had offered Winter Springs TE Lars Anderson (6-4/235). So less than 72 hours after National Signing Day, the Class of 2007 already is beginning to take shape.
Ole Miss has four commitments already, including LB Chris Strong (6-3/240) from Batesville (Miss.) South Panola, who may be the South's best at his position.
And USC already has its first '07 commitment, from LB Chris Galippo (6-3/232) of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite, who may be the West's best at the position.

If Croom had jumped out there with some early commits as part of a new recruiting plan for MSU, you guys would have thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and Croom would have been annointed "genius" status. You know I speak the truth.
