Youth Weekend

Postby deltadrake » Mon Feb 06, 2006 8:38 am

I usually do not post many things at all but I do have something to brag about. I took my 9yr.old son on his first duck hunt yesterday afternoon. He killed a greenhead and was hooked!!!!!!! Not only was it his first duck but he dropped on is first shot with a gun he had never shot before. I just thought that was amazing.

I had four boys in camp this weekend, ranging in age from 9 to 13. In three hunts, they killed a total of 22 gadwalls, a widgeon, a mallard and a Canada goose. What a way to cap off a fantastic season!

We had a great weekend as well. Seems that the youth weekend is always better. Last year we were covered up with pintails and this year is was mallards and gadwalls. Sunday morning my son killed his limit before 7:00. He shot way better than I could. 11 shots and 6 ducks, he shot one greenhead twice.
