IT is a SAD, SAD day. Great Rebel football coach. My earliest memories as a little Rebel fan were of watching the Johnny Vaught Show on tv every Sunday during the late 60s. At school the following Monday, I would have on my No. 18 Ole Miss football jersey, winning hypothetical games for the Rebs on the playground during recess. Due to Coach Vaught and Archie, I was hooked. And it has been a bittersweet ride ever since, with lots of character building. And all the while, I have wished for the return to UM of a coach who could seize the moment and achieve great success, without offering excuses for failure ---the same way JHV coached. He will be missed.

Can't argue with his record at Ole Miss. Hopefully UM will do something to honor this classic coach. I personally think that Col. Reb favors J. Vaught (older years) in design. I've spoken with him on occasion and always thought that.
