Interesting article on choke tubes

This head to head test the Brits did makes you wonder exactly what "is" an IC tube any more. Some would say anything with .010 constriction, others 55% at 40 yards. I like the .010 designation myself, but who knows what pattern it will throw in any given gun? http://www.teaguechokes.co.uk/test.html

sure ain't as simple as it once was.. use to a single barrel 16 ga. was perfect for every thing...haha....

Hey Judge: I may swing through the NA Friday or later this weekend either coming or going from Tunica. I'm afraid that I could not handle 2 weeks of "togetherness" though

"Interesting article"?.......well, O.K.......if you say so, Mark.

If you DO get-up this way, stop by.....we'll smoke some 'red-dot' (or whatever you're puttin' in your pipe, thesedays). I'll even give you a re-match on a round of 'Skwap'.

"Togetherness"? (Yeah, they say that fish and relatives start to get 'old' after a couple o' days.) Hey, she's your Mom for goodness sake......suck it up, man.....(or were you talkin' 'bout 'JB'?)

Two things I found interesting about this Article Gulf was the following:

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote
If nothing else it shows that you should take nothing for granted with your gun and you should test it with your favourite cartridge so that you know just how it is performing]

I found it interesting that they said use your cartridge and not use several different brands and shot sizes.

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote
This test has shown that the boom in replacement chokes is not just a fad. All the chokes featured here outperformed the standard Browning product.

Why did they just pick on browning and not Remington and Winchester.
Surely they are leaders in the market of screw in chokes.
And one last thing I require 60 to 70 percent at fourty yards through a mod choke and I believe that is what they are calling a quarter choke isn't it?

Good article thanks for posting

Dan:
I believe that they refer to what we call a modified choke (and what choke tube makers call .20) as a 1/2 choke. I think IC is 1/4 in British lingo. They also have a 5/8 choke that I can't figure out what it is. What they call a full choke we would call "big booty fuzzy extra full." They talk funny, but they sure do have the best shooting magazines
