Hunting Supply Shops

Postby BirminghamAttorney » Tue Jul 23, 2002 12:11 pm

It looks like my post concerning the Mean Mallard article has started a discussion about hunting supply stores. I have not had much experience at Mean Mallard, so I cannot add much.

I have had a lot of experience with Gun Dog Supply out of Starkville though. I was turned on to them by a friend of mine about 5 years ago when I practiced in Jackson. Great service and a great source of information. Never had any problems and my order is always on my door within three days of ordering without having to pay for express shipping. The Snell's do a great job. Two thumps up.

Anyone else have any good / bad Hunting Supply Shop comments?

kinda like Ormans in Ripley... started off as a country srore, that has gone big time sporting..... but good service and good prices make a great business... they have been there along time, and yes, they will still make sandwitches for you.... very friendly folks...

Isn't 'Gun Dog Supply' in North Jackson behind Shoney's Inn?

they sold the one in Jackson to another guy. They operate the internet part out of Starkville, I think...He's still in Jackson and has some good stuff..

I haven't been around this board too long, but I've never seen Duckmen do a 180!

I believe it was Mean Mallard that he was unhappy with...not Gun Dog Supply.

I never knew the owners of Gun Dog Supply, but I did shop at both the Starkville and Jackson locations. Back then (thirteen years ago) the Starkville store was a hole in the wall, but everybody knew that it was the place to shop for dog supplies.
