A big thanks to Double R and the folks at Willow Break.

Just wanted to thank Ramsey and his crew for hosting me and a friend on a story at Willow Break.

I shot my first dove on that ground and made my first duck hunt there. What a transformation they have going on. What I only knew as bean fields are now well on there way to returning to bottomland hardwoods.

Ian, Sam and, of course, Forrest, Ramsey’s son, made the hunt and the stay very special. Sam took care of my father in his declining years, and it didn’t dawn on me who he was until the last minute. Turns out I remember him from the time he was just big enough matter.

The hunt was fun, though we never got Forrest his greenhead. It was still a very special trip for me, seeing a young man shooting ducks on the same ground I once learned the ropes on.

The food was fantastic, the grounds awe inspiring and the company beyond compare.

Thanks Ramsey, and all the crew at the camp for hosting me and allowing me to revisit my old stomping grounds.

I hope we can do the hunt justice in the magazine.

Bradley, it was our pleasure and was great to hear stories of what the place - and the people involved with it and the south delta - were like back then. The hunting remained good and steady and the mallards finally made a good showing, so thanks for bringing them too!

Here's one of Merenisco's pictures (Delta, Forrest, Double R , Tupe, and Ken)...

Glad to hear you guys did well!

I wanted to wait until you guys came back in from the hunt that morning but we had a long drive back to Tallahassee (Florida) and my dad was itching to get on the road. I had a feeling that you guys did OK (sounded like it at least) I am looking forward to seeing the article. Please let us know when it may be published so that I can be sure to get it. This was my first year as a member at Willow Break and I too am looking forward to many great hunts in the years to come!

It was great to see you Bradley, especially once we realized we already knew each other from a long time ago. Glad we could treat you to a good time. Any time you are around the area, drop us a line and we'll try to do it again.

Bradley,

I enjoyed the hunt as well. It was great to see a professional photographer in action.

Thanks, but I have a long way to go on the pro photographer side of things. I geta few good ones now and then, but with digital I get to shoot A LOT.

Pleasure hunting with you. We'll do it again next season, maybe even at my place? If I can get it going by then.

dukbum, Double R 2's always told me that you tend to hit ducks better when you are aiming at the same duck as he is.....is there any truth to that?
