Jason Golding at Lakeway Sporting Goods in Grenada has heavy load 7.5 loads for $36 per case. I buy all of my shells from him. His prices are hard to beat. The phone# 662-227-9210. He may give you a discount if you buy 10 or more cases. He sells more ammo than anyone in North Mississippi.

What's so hard to grasp?.....that's the same load I shoot. Just 'cause it's not 3-3/4dr, 1-1/4oz or screaming out there at 1500fps....doesn't mean someone else can't kill a dove stone dead with it.
It was nice of you to list some websites for the guy, though.

Anat, you've forgotten that I and Dixie Boy has never seen eye to eye on this board. And I was having a hard time grasping the reason to help him out on the shells.

I need some websites that I can order shotgun shells from, for dove hunting. I have found (Cheaper Than Dirt), but there has to be somemore that I can compair prices with. I am looking for either Estate, Winchester, Federal, or Fiocchi. Any info would be great. I like shooting 20ga, 1oz, 2.5drams, 7.5shot.

GH22, thanks for the two websites, AbleAmmo does have good prices on Estate shells, and you can't buy shells off the Fiocchi website. Ant, thanks for the backup I am confident in the shells I shoot, thats a hell of a dove load...50% of the time I am shooting a 28 gauge though.

Not all of us have the great hand-eye of GC. Me, I have to work at just being decent.
Last year for doves I finally got some good quality Remington shells, which I don't normally shoot. They were supposed to have about 1400 fps, which I think is about the same as my drylocks, so I got them thinking it might help.
Boy did it do wonders for me. I have on more than several occasions in the past averaged about 3 BIRDS TO A BOX! AWFUL. With those shells I could just about limit on a box. Wow. I think I posted on it last fall and GC was skeptical.
I am sure GC will have a smartalecky comment, but I could do that with dif. guns, especially my SBE. Even the citori I got on a barter from somebody short of cash.
Maybe its not the fps; I'm just getting better with time!
Regards, I'll be thinking of y'all while Im a hundred feet down in Cayman Brac next week.
Yeah, right.

My comment is NO ONE can shoot so bad as to average 3 out of a box. Even GH22 shoots better than that.....well, wait a minute.....now that I think about it....GH22.....22 misses per box.....nevermind

HAHA, Mark, very funny. I usually avg no less than 5/per box. This year I'm going for the limit in just one box. I said the same thing last year but I couldn't get a limit of doves to fly by me.
The main reason that the average is 3 doves/box is because of these light light shells at wally world for $3. The doves have to be close enough for you to spit on him for you to knock 'em down with those light booty loads.
Here's the way I look at it, case of light loads, $30, case of suped up heavy loads, $60. I'd rather spend the extra $30 and get shells that have more knockdown power that can reach out there when the doves quit flying the edges of the field.
I'll take a 3 3/4 dr., 1 1/4 oz shot shell over any other light load made, except when I'm shooting clays or skeet.
That fiocchi sites lists distrubutors that you can call to locate a local SG store that shells them.

Quys I agreee with Delta Duck and GH22 that a good field load is a must and .should notbe bought based on the cost alone. Its all relative boys, I figure after you add up the price of all your hunting toys - gun, truck, fourwheeler, dog, hunting lease, etc.whats another $30 for a good case of shells.
On a more serious note, be carefull of buying "cheap shells". I shoot 12ga 3 1/4 1 1/4 8's and have never had a problem. Then I let my dad buy shells one year and he bought "cheap Shells" I think 3 1/4 w/ 1 oz of shot. I could not hit anything that day. A guy that loaded shells said there was too much powder for the 1 oz of lead, and that load just would not pattern - too hot for the amount of lead.
May be some of you guys out there who load could shed some knowledge about the different loads ie. correct drams of powder to ounce of shot for the 12ga and 20ga.

When I can't get any heavy loads, I'll get the 3 1/4 dr, 1 1/4 oz shells. I don't think I've ever seen wally world stock the shells just a little lighter than the heavy loads. Most of the time I see the 3 dr, 3 1/4 dr shells with 7/8, 1, and 1 1/8 oz shot.

PITY PITY BOYS..... you need super knock down power in the first season?????? give me a break........ if you can't limit with cheap shells on opener, i suggest you try another field.....
a word of advise, if you want to up your average, sit under the power lines or a good snag tree.....
i prefer the camo of smoke off the grill..... works every time....

The cheapest shells just got cheaper... Basspro shops in mempho, $1.99 a box for the remi $#!+. We shoot em all the time training, and they'll kill a dove in a pinch as well.
As much as I don't care for remington shells (Im a federal man), the remi heavy dove load in the green/red box is the best all time dove shell I've ever expereinced. Can make a good dove shot awesome, and a bad shot passable. travis
