Well, 5 1/2 weeks later..........I got my meat from MM. It's good. Not good enough to wait 5 1/2 weeks, but good. Sausage is very good (much better than last years), and the tenderized steaks are excellent. Haven't tried the tamales yet, or the deer sticks.

I hope they get there chit together, sure is convenient.

Their tamales are real good. I've had 30 dozen made there this year. I've tried others, but I like their's the best.

if you go to van's knowing your not going to get your deer back everything will be ok. i deboned and sliced two gallons of steak to be tenderized and gave them about 3 gallon bags to turn into burger.
i got back the right amount (lbs) of burger but i probably only got one fourth of the steak back and the meat was definetly not mine because the steak was tenderloin and i cut all the white out of it before i sent it up there. the steaks i got back were full of white. they told me if i was going to be that picky that the next time i came in to ask for a certain guy to give my meat special attention. i know how easy it is to drop meat into a tenderizer. i was'nt asking for anything other than my meat.

i have never liked goin in mean mallard. being young, i guess they think you just wanna always "look around". never really bought anything from there after i stood at the counter and listened to the two guys talk and talk and talk, and then say "oh, did you need something?" needless to say i kept my money and went to http://www.cabelas.com - best customer service, there is always something on sale, and they give you a christmas present!

Country Meat Packers is hands down the best. They do an excellent job, of course though, meat is what they specialize in and not sporting goods. They are also very economical. I'm using the Outfitter this year since Country Meat Packers is not processing and they referred me to them. We'll see...

yeap they are supposed to be processing next year, the USDA boys told them that they couldnt process wild game and USDA meat in the same equipment or in the same area do to cross contimination.

Took MM some meat first week in Jan. I called them again yesterday (was told to). The girl said it would be ANOTHER week or 2. Totally ridiculous....I won't go back for processng.

yea van's mixes his meat and he will tell you that you don't get your meat back

that is why he got it back in 6 days

if you want your meat back then be prepared to wait atleast 6 weeks

just my 2 cents
