Outfitter Store in Jackson

Rocky, I think that Jeff Speed must have moved his business to the old Bennigan's building just south of the Briarwood exit on the west side of the frontage road. I was in Jackson today and saw the Mean Mallard sign on it. Do you know something I don't?

It moved up on the I55 frontage road.

The new store looks like it is going to be nice. I stopped in and talked to him the other day. The first thing I asked was "who's slinging the liquor?" The bar is still in tact - it's now the checkout counter. It's got a good atmosphere and looks like he is going to have more stock. I'll keep giving him my biz.

he did move it, and it's on the frontage road of I-55 south...he moved it in order to give him a little more parking and store room...he thinks that now that it stands by itself and it is on I-55 that it may mean a little more business and from a business outlook, that seems pretty sound...

It is my understanding that he needed more room and also this location can be seen by more folks since he is on I-55. i think he has plans to build a new building somewhere north of Jackson -- around Madison. His new store is suppose to handle four wheeler and equipment. From what I have heard Jeff and Leland are teaming up bring the whole enchilda to the sportsman.

For me, i don't think I will try to get to the present location--just too much hassle.

Softcall, where have you been? Of course, you could ask the same question about me...Why don't you bring Softcall Jr. out one afternoon and let him catch a bream off the pier? Any plans for another trip to the "secret location" this fall?

I stopped in the new store last weekend when I was in Jackson. Right now, they are still getting everything organized, but it looked like it is going to be a nice improvement when they get everything straightened out.

hope it ain't close to the Holiday Inn Suites..... i'll be there next week.... with the plastic of course..... maybe i can work in a dozen Krystels and a little outdoor gear.....

Hambone - thanks for the invite. I have been knee deep in trying to stay in business. At any rate it looks like I may have some free time on my hands real soon. I'd love to bring Softcall Jr. up sometime.

At least two trips to the secret spot planned this fall....you are on the list for both!

No one even posted what the main reason for moving was????? To be right next to hooters of course. Sounds like an all day expedition if you live out of town. Start out shopping at Mean Mallard, then go to Hooters for drinks and scenery. Some may not like Jeff, but he has good business sense!! Who eats at Hooter's???? Men. Who shops at the Mean Mallard?????? Men. The only problem for him will be not spending that extra 50,000 a year next door. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
