I will post the pics when Rocky sends them to me.

This is a story for Field and Stream for sure.

You should win a leg lamp for that achievement.

Is it possible???? A freakin 31 year old duck? I thought the story about the fellow in Arkyville killin 2 double banded ducks in one hunt was jackpot. 31 years????? That is double the longest lifespan of duck that I have ever heard of. CAN IT BE??????

Here is the pic of the band certificate. Un-B-lievable!

Rocky, have you made any attempt to contact the bander? I wonder if he's still around? I'm gonna try and find out some more tomorrow.

I wonder how many clutches and ducklings she has raised in her lifetime? I bet you shot one of the most productive hens that ever lived. Think about it, she's responsonsible for possibly over 1 million mallard ducks.

I'll explain that for you boys in Hinds and Coahoma counties.... public school system and all.

Deadeye... that's amazing. I reckon voluntary restraint does pay off.

WOW! Alright how is going to call Wildfowler or something. What a great story that would be. I guess the duck is long gone? Do you still have the meat?

If it was anyone but Rocky, I would call bullchit too. Like I posted earlier, although jokingly, it does make me wonder if someone put an old unreported band on that ducks leg. That may not be the correct answer but it seems more probable than a 31 year old hen mallard.
