I just got the USFW press release that came out today from the Delta Waterfowl site. Looks like tough times ahead. Mallards -5% Gadwalls -17% Widgeon-6% Green-winged Teal-7% Blue-winged Teal-27% Shoveler-30% Pintail-46% Redhead-21% Canvasback-16% Scaup-5% and Total Duck Population-14% I shorter season and reduced bag limit will be a given for the 2002-2003 season. Shoveler down 30%!!!! That'll probably affect 85% of my limits! Thank goodness for those ugly little fellows when times get slow. (The dog dont know the differance!)

Finally got me a pintail this past season, had a heap of them this year at our place in the delta. Maybe they'll come back and give some of us another shot at 'em this next go round.
