Its time to watch those leases

Postby Greg » Thu Jun 21, 2001 5:09 am

HELLO GUYS, Its been awhile since I've been here, The new sight is great!!! I just wanted to inform everyone in LA, MO, TN, MS AL, and AR to watch your honey holes if you lease them.....There is a certain MS company that will have to remain nameless for right now ( THEY SELL CAMO) ! This company is attempting to buy up property ( hunting )and (leases) and are releasing them for unreal amounts. I lost 600 acres last week !!! a spot that I have had for 8 years...so watch your backs !!....on a better note, whats the plan for this get together? Time, Place....etc. I have just caught bits and pieces trying to catch up from the old site !

Sprig, I just talked to a buddie and he lost his lease. Some guys (wont say who) offered 4 times what my bud was paying. I guess all you can do is say congratulations to the land owner.

Also heard about some land that was on lease but purchased by another timber company and they doubled the price of the lease.

Man I wish I had enough money just to buy some land and not get in this rat race. Oh yea that's right, I'm not in the rat race cause I ain't go no money period.

The get-together as of know is July 14 in Starkville at the Starkville Gun Club. As for leases, we have to renew ours in July and I am hoping no one comes in and makes us bid higher to retain the lease. Our club has been there for over 50 years. I hope this MS Company(which sells camo) isn't Mossy Oak because I plan on working for them.

Can't pick on one company, its whut people do now. Nobody wants to take the time to kill ducks, they just figger if someone is killing more, then git their gig. I'm glad this economy is figgin to go to hell, hope the bottom drops outta ducks too. Folks got too much damn money, and its time their is a righting of the ways. Id like to see soybeans go for 3 times their current prices, and duck seasons go to 40 days, and the stock market right around 4000! If a few of dem big boy cocksuckers jumped outta da window over their portfolios, might get back where folks could actually own/lease some dirt. travis

I'm glad you said that Sprig because if I do get a job with them I was going to invite them down to my club for some duck hunting. I guess I won't now.

I lost a lease to a "big company" last year, tripled what we were paying. Already had a deal cut behind our backs with the landowner before duck season even closed. But sooner or later, I will catch them ....

Hey don't want to make anybody upset but a buddy of mine told me that the "camo" company yall are talking about is also a Real Estate Company buying and selling. In your opinion does that make you feel any better? How would you compare that to Anderson Tulley? Just wondering?

I'd still be out there at dawn for a 2 duck limit. I'm afraid that's the only thing that is going to slow down stuff like this.

I don't wish for the economy to tank. Nobody is insulated from the effects. I don't wish for fewer ducks--because, watching big groups work is too cool. But if limit reduction will thin out the fly by night interest, I'd take that pill.
