Gator before I can give you my honest opinion on this there is a few things that I need to know .

Is the pup FF'ed ? If not then do you intend on FF'ing him ? Are you following my new program " BURN BABY BURN " ? If so then I'm sure you CC'ed the pup at ten weeks like I recommend . A simple fetch/BUUUUUURRRRRRNNNNN/fetch should brang the little fellow right around , he may get a little antsy on the BUUUUUURRRRRRNNNN part but that's normal , most pups do   ........try this and get back to me , unless ofcourse you're not following my pragram , then I would suggest trying what Bill said , sounds like a good idea :D

yeah, you did see mike stewart demonstrate a trailing memory on du tv. after we get a pup retrieving short marks we start trailing memories right away. it really helps the dogs memory.

Yeah, its a British thing. I like it, and I don't see any downside to it. Also you can walk them away and sit them front finish and give a "back" cast.

Do you live in a round house or an igloo? If not, then go to a cornor of the house, and throw a bumper down the east side, and one down the south side.... unless he kool aids the siding, hes gotta go get one and bring it back to the other. Duh, be smarter than the dog helps.

I like the ideal of throwing a mark, heeling the dog around, and then coming back and pick up the mark. Its chains the ideal of being obedient to get a retreive, and works on memory. But gator please dont call it a trailing memory or anything else queer sounding... its throwing a bird and then heeling a dog. You've already got some lardy tapes you'll be quoting with a bunch of words to make stuff sound more impressive than it is, if you start borrowing british slang your dog is doomed. Please watch the buzzwords while training your dog.

If he goes over one to the other, hes learning all bets are off in the field. You can address this later with pressure, but a foundation of doing it his way is being laid that will always haunt you. There is nothing in your repetive hand thrown singles and doubles in the yard worth causing a problem you'll have to deal with later. travis

Travis , you know gator lives in a van down by the river . The pup is just gonna head towards the first bumper then skirt up under the van and get the other one
