I decided to shorten my user name and take the name of the man who made it famous.

I never knew Don Miller and am not even sure if he was from Greenwood. One of the best holes in the McIntyre Scatter is named after him. That one hole kills more ducks in a years time than most big leases do. On a blue sky day, it is deadly. The Don Miller Hole is owned by Leflore County Hunting and Fishing Association. I happen to be lucky enough to be a member.

DM,
I have been in the scatters on many days and have seen hundreds and hundreds of mallards just falling in the hole. Don Miller was from Greenwood and his wife hunted the hole many years after he died. Two ladies hunted the MRs. Miller and Ms. Bernander. This is an awsome hole on a sunny cold day.

I, too, have fond memories of some excellent hunts in the "Don Miller Hole", not many though - I guess I just had too much trouble getting there at 3am ,and there was usually someone already there .

I know of 3 people from Greenwood that you couldn't beat to the Miller Hole, if they wanted it on a given day. They would be in the hole before midnight, if that was what it took to get the hole.

Yes, I did. About 3 years ago on the day before opening day, we were on the water at noon and it rained 3 inches between then and shooting time. We didn't even get wet and slept like babies. If I remember correctly, the water had risen so much, we had to re wedge the boat the next morning. We shot our limit and were gone by 8am.

Yea, and I have seen "Don Miller Hole Hunter" spend Friday night in his boat in thunderstorms and driving rain to have it on opening morning..
