This New Hunting License, well it sucks

Good gawd, I received my new Sportsman License today (renewed thru the mail with MDWF&P) and it's 16" long by 3 1/2 " wide. It's naturally got an entire 6" devoted to the tele-check deer system.

I'm not a grumpy old man that hates change but this is ridiculous. What was wrong with the old credit card style???? Have ya'll got yours yet?

The new license is a joke to the 32.00 that we pay for it. As soon as a duck hunter gets it wet, it will be gone. I'm not sure how the Duck Stamps are going to stay on there. If you were to laminate it, you would have to go get a loan to buy enough laminate paper. I just believe the Kroger receipt (that they call a sportsman license) will not hold up to a hunters task. Someone must have gotten a pay raise, so they had to cut cost somewhere. [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img]

I got mine last week and it's exactly like they always are. It's the credit card style with a little cat squirrel on it. Did they issue the other style at random or what?

I am a bit confused also. I got mine and it had the squirrel on it also. Le tme know if I got the wrong thing, but I wouldn't think so since it is the same it always was. Same size as a credit card.

My non-res MS license, last year, was this cash register receipt style. It appears to have some sort of a slick coating on it (waterproof?). My duck stamps never came off but then again, I never submerged myself to get everything wet. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Im glad I don't have to worry about getting one every year. Thanks to my grandparents back when I was 16,they got me the lifetime license. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] At the time I did'nt think it was gonna be a big deal, boy was I wrong. I got mine when they first came out and they were I think about 250, now I don't know how much they are but I sure am glad my grandparents were looking out for me later on down the road. For yall who have kids that are about to have to have hunting and fishing license go ahead and spend the money and get them a lifetime license, they may not appreciate now but they will later. I got a lifetime license as a birthday present several years ago from my parents. I know it cost more than $250. I am thinking it was closer to $1000. It sure is nice not to have to go and buy a new license every July 1. By the time I'm 65, if I live that long, the lifetime license will have paid for itself. I do wish that the Ms license would be good for a year to date like the Arkansas license. Most people forget to renew theirs until dove season rolls around.

Those 2in x 4in ziplock bags will keep them dry. Keep them in the tube pouch of the gun case. Don`t have to dig for them when the wardens appear....

booger, it sounds like they sent you a sportsman license through the online purchase. I got the same license but they sent me another 2001-2002 license instead of 2002-2003.
