Question about a field where I hunt geese.

Postby driveby » Sat Dec 31, 2005 2:41 pm

I have a field where I hunt geese every other weekend. Up until this morning I had a good supply. Last week the farmer started using his irrigation system on the field. It pumps water from a couple of runoff ponds behind his dairy. I guess he is fertilizing and watering at the same time. :? The entire place stunk like cow crap this morning and I didn't see the first goose. There were geese there last Saturday (around 100) and there is plenty of corn left in the field. These are resident Canada's I'm hunting as well so I know they didn't leave the country. Would the crap water make them find an alternative food source? I know I don't want to eat corn with crap on it. What do y'all think? :?:
