Tunica County Hunt -PICS-

Postby obstate03 » Mon Dec 26, 2005 5:32 pm

Went on a good hunt outside of Tunica this morning. Saw more ducks than i have seen in over five years. We had at least 500 hundred pintails and mallards circle over us for over ten minutes. It was an amazeing sight, like nothing i have ever seen before. When they got close to shoot i got my first pintail. We got 16 ducks between 4 shooters by the end og the morning. Had ducks working until 9:15 when we quite. Great hunt , Here are some pics..

Were they coming into the dekes or just pass shooting? Good job! Great looking shoot!

we could not get them to land, they would just circle a bunch of times. Almost all the ducks we saw all morning did that. It got to be frustrating because the only shots we could get were the low fly-bys. It must have been the sun of something.... they would cup-up a long ways off, but never get close to landing

I hunted the end of the 1st season in Ark and had the same large bird numbers and had the same type of reaction. The would work and work and then cup and the circle some more. The only shooting we would get was the same as you. We tried more calling, less calling, no calling, whistles only, more dekes, less dekes.....always the same.
