Duckkilla did you kill that bird at noxubee, cause a guy killed one up there the other mornin december 3 that was double banded woodie with a 100$ band on it. And i asked Johny Wayne bout it and he said they banded 100 like that in 03 and the one my buddy killed last year was only the third to be killed up ther when he killed it.

Yeah killing a banded duck is great and all but it aint the end of the world guys I mean come on don't you just like being out there? I know some people who have killed ducks with bands and they get cocky and think they are the $#!+ but I mean all in all its just another duck with some bling bling on it. Now don't get me wrong I love to kill banded birds but its not the end of the world if I dont.

We've killed two banded woodies this year and neither have had reward bands. These were the first banded woodies we've killed.

I got my certificate today.

Wood Duck hatched in 2004

Banding location-Approx. 6 NE of Puxico MO

Bander-Gaylord Memorial Laboratory
Dr Leigh H. Fredrickson

Banded- 07/22/2004

Sex-male (course I figured that one out)

About 300+ miles from Noxubee.

So why did he come to Noxubee?

I really think they are going about the whole program the wrong way. The reward should be the band. You pay ten bucks and get the info certificate. I don't know of a diehard duck hunter that wouldn't do that. Then they have money to band a whole lot more ducks and could have a few $500 bands. Just a thought.

By the way, no check was included. I was told that would be seperate.

I heard that budweiser had put some million dollar bands on a duck or two. Of course they immediately flew to Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL. Enjoying retirement with the flamingoes.

I thought Lake Eufaula was in Alabama. Does some of it stretch over into GA?
