Reward Bands

Postby Duckkilla » Tue Dec 13, 2005 7:26 am

Killed a wood duck with a $100 reward band on it this weekend. Just wondering if anyone else has killed a wood duck with a reward band. I have never heard of one on a wood duck.

damn !!,

You got that lucky streak this year, huh. Heard about your teal last week.
I've never heard of a money band on a woody, just mallards and pintails.
Congrats, Patrick, I want me a green band, too.

Did anyone ever get their $100? I killed a greenhead a few years back that had a money band. I got the certificate, but never any $$$.

Not that it matters, but I am curious.

I killed a greenhead with a reward band about four years ago. It took about three months before I got the money.

I bet they didn't even send the interest money that it earned over the three months.

On those money bands the certificate come from birdband but the check (or at least mine did) came from the bander. Mine was from out in Oregon. Banded when it was too young to fly in Salem OR. and killed in So. Washington Co. in Dec. of the same year.

Yea bonehead the same guy that duckkiller is talkin bout was huntin with me when he killed the duck, he never got his money either. Duckkilla did you kill that bird at noxubee, cause a guy killed one up there the other mornin december 3 that was double banded woodie with a 100$ band on it. And i asked Johny Wayne bout it and he said they banded 100 like that in 03 and the one my buddy killed last year was only the third to be killed up ther when he killed it.

My son and I shot the double banded woodie at Noxubee on Dec. 3. When I called it in the girl couldn't tell me where it was banded. She also said a check would be sent.

The coolest thing was........that was the only duck we killed. Turned what seemed like a pretty slow hunt into a great hunt.

I'll keep you posted about the details.
