The Mahanna 500
The Mahanna 500
The Mahanna 500 was completed on Saturday Dec 7, 2005. There were atleast 30 atv's involved and it was a treat. All hunters lined at the gate waiting until that clock hit 5am and the race was on. I love to hunt ducks but was a new experience being in the middle of that. Don't know if it will happen again on a weekend. (at Mahanna) If you go take your fastest atv and get ready to run it to hunt it.

have they ever explained the logic behind that 5:00 rule?
seems like first come first serve with the holes goin to the people willin ta get up first instead of the fastest 4-wheeler/boat, ect.is a better deal---woiked fer years and years

I here that!
I dont understand why anyone would want to set up right next to each other and shoot anything and everything that has wings and makes a sound! I had one guy tell me two young boys snuck up on his swimming duck and shot both of them! They need to have an abulance up there because it is a matter of time when someone is going to get shot! You need to wear a welding mask to hunt so you will have both eyes when you come out of there!!

The Manhannah 500....
I rolled on the damn floor laughing at that.... I'll never hunt that place again. I've never seen the blast off there, but I can sure imagine what it is like. That rule is not going to survive the test of time. Someone is going to get hurt badly going in too fast with too much weight on the bike. I can see two bikes bumping each other going down the levee.... two bikes turn over arms get broken, maybe worse.
Skybuster you can kiss my ass... if they are not settling in your plastic, you are in the wrong place MOVE !!!! DUMBASS

Sounds like one less person to compete with. Perhaps this will catch on.......Dog's Eye wrote:The Manhannah 500....

We hunted mahana opening morning, and we were forced to wake up at a little before 2 o'clock to go get our spot we scouted. We arrived to find out we weren't the first one's there. After we sat there until 5, the rush was absolutely ridiculous. I haven't quite decided if it was worth the hassle or not.
