Biologic Duck Food

I'm thinking about trying something new for one of my duck holes...Anybody planted Biologic for ducks? Had any luck with it?

I'll stick with JAP in 3 of my 4 holes but thought I would try a bag of the Biologic if anybody recommends it...

We make that stuff right here in Independence. I work part time for steve payne every summer making all the Biologic mixtures. The waterfowl forage is a great blend I have used it several times and have never been dissapointed. the one thing i really like about it is it doesnt require alot of attention. If u need alot drop me an e mail and i will get you some for a fairly reasonable price

Cooter, can you tell me when and how it needs to be planted ?? I have some rented fields and sometimes the harvest is not finished until mid to late October. Is it too late to plant ? If not, do you just spread it out on the ground ???

The good thing about biologic waterfowl forage is that it has several diffrent types of seeds all which will grow at all diffrent times of the year we normally plant around the end of june first of july. as far as how to plant if you have a small plot like we do all u need is a four wheeler, a small disk,and a seed spreader. i guess it just depends on how big your plot is.

I have a shallow wet weather pond in Middle Ga. that is fed by run off. As it dries up this summer I was thinking about planting(More like throwing out) Biologic around the edges of the pond as it dries up. These edges will be more of mud, so I won't be able to get equipment in and disk. The best I could do would be to get a pump and drain most of the pond but I am still not sure I could get equip. into prepare like it you would cultivated ground. Do you think Biologic would work in this situation?
Also how much water does this stuff need or how much can it stand? Like I said above I have little control over the water. If its dry and no rain will it make it. If we get to much rain and this pond begins to fill up while it is still growing. Any suggestions or advice is welcome.

The waterfowl forage is a unique rice blend so it does really well im moist conditions and it grows fairly well under water as long as its not too deep. You should not have a problem planting by hand however i would at least take a rake and cover it up a little bit. Like i said it grows in a wide variety of enviroments and from my experience its ideal for the situation you are talking about. any questions drop me an e mail at

Thanks for the info Cooter...I need two acres worth of seed...How many bags of seed is that and what kind of retail price should I expect to pay?

For two acres you will need two 50# bags. Now the price ranges but you should probably be able to get it for around 65 to 70 bucks a bag. dont quote me on that but i think that is pretty close. Like I said I dont think you will be dissapointed in your results. Give it a try

i bought two bags of the blend at the DU fest last year for 6.50 a bag at closing time on Sunday, what a deal...... if you can't control your water levels, i suggest you stick with Jap.... i was extremely disapointed....{but wasn't that sales pitch great}
