avery no tangle line problem (problem sloved)
i had about 30 dekes in a bag this mourning, all of them had avery no-tangle line and strap wieghts, i pulled 6 decoys out of the bag, and all t he line broke like it was glass. i was only 10 degrees this mourning. and the decoys were in my shop last night. this really sucks! i luckly had another bag with 16-20 dekes that had nylon string, any body else had this problem? im gonna talk to avery about it and see what they say. id hate to have to RE-RIG 30 decoys!

Is this the Avery stuff or another kind? Found it at Mack's. Used it on mine so I hope it's not the Avery stuff. Claims it doesn't break in cold weather, so the package said.

Got the same problem.. it was not even below 30 degrees...Oh well, what do ya do...Scott Moates on the board could figure out if it was a bad batch..What really sucks is I lost danged near a dozen anchors, and those line adjuster doo-jiggy's...not too mention I had to chase after the decoys..on th OTHER side of the pond!!
I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!

They aren't tangle free either. i suggest 400 lb monofilament if you're hunting in shallow water.

Call Kim at customer service and tell her what is going on. If it is a widespread problem, they need to know so they can fix you fellas up and make the line better for the future.
BustinDucks, your decoy chasing story reminds me of a time...............
I was guiding 5 or 6 fellows from upstate New York. I took them out to the pit in two loads on my four wheeler. As I dropped the first guys off, one asked me if I wanted him to put out the decoys. I politely declined his offer, as I figured he was paying and I was getting paid.
So as I drop the second load of hunters off at the pit, the guy again asks if I want him to put out the dekes. I figure, what the heck, he may enjoy it, so I said "Okay, go ahead."
I drive my atv across the field and hide it in some brush along a ditch. As I'm making the trek back to the pit, I see that all of the decoys are out on the water. I'm thinking to myself "Man, that was fast!"
As I get closer, I see that the decoys are drifting further and further from the pit, some upside down. I get to the pit and notice that all of the lines and weights are still wrapped around the decoys, and this NY Yankee is smiling proudly from the pit. All he did was open the sack and dump them into the water.
I commenced to chasing all of the decoys around the field, put them back in the bag, walked back to the pit and put them out myself.
From that day forward, I adopted the policy "No Yankee touches the dekes."

avery
Yeah, I gave up on that stuff after moving up here to MO...gets a little colder than it doesn back home! That stuff breaks like glass every time it gets cold...I'll never use it again....I have gone back to just nylon cord. Also, those Bungee cords that have the hook anchors(blank on brand name) They act up in cold weather too...it looses its elasticity.....just an fyi for ya.

Decoy line
I use the original "Tangle Free" not made by Avery and have never had
this problem. Nothing but positive results for this type. My .02

I second the MONO, but only in shallow water, I lost a deke this past weekend to the deep water. We saw it floating away, but the boat was tied nicely, and we figured it could wait. well it drifted further and further. then some ducks lit in the water near it. So I figured I could find it pretty easily.
Well when we get ready to cut out, we head toward the ducks on the ater and they all got up and flew away.
They are some good looking decoys, but damn, that is aweful lifelike!
So that is my story, it flew away!
