Heck! take as many as you want. It's been pretty slow lately, but just follow the fish finder and watch for the schooling baitfish. The stripers will not be far behind.

I watched about 20 different trollers troll by this weekend and didn't see them snag anything except a big tree we sunk at the end of our pier. Saw them catching a few a couple of weeks ago. Someone said they've moved down towards garfields landing. Just heard that though, don't know for sure.

If I were going trolling, I would leave the public landing and ride up until I get to muddy bayou, then turn around and troll about 10 yards from the end of the piers as I make my way back heading toward the public landing. All of the piers on the public landing side of muddy bayou are the ones that I last heard about being hot! Don't get me wrong however, I don't mean troll all the way back to the public landing, but stay in between muddy bayou and the public landing, but mostly back by muddy bayou. Tie on a crankbait that runs about 10-12 feet deep, chunk it out the back of the boat until about 30 yards of line is out, then engage your reel. The ideal speed is to simply bump your boat into gear and let it idle down the lake.
This is what worked for some guys I know about two weeks ago, and they caught somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25 or so. I sure would appreciate it if you let us know how it goes! ~BigMule~

I know you guys don't want to give up your honey holes but I was looking for a little help. I'm going to Eagle lake Wednesday to troll for stripers and I have never been trolling or to Eagle lake. Any of you guys have any suggestions for a first timer. I'm going strictly for catch and release so I want take your local fish home and put them in grease.Any info would be great.

BigMule I will post a report Thursday morning and let you know how I did. I keep getting the same advice as you gave me. A couple of buddys of mine went with Sidney Montgomery from Tara Wednesday a week ago and caught around 40. Sounds like they were in the same spot. Can you tell me where muddy bayou is or will I be able to tell. Thanx again for the info.

The report I got yesterday concerning the weekend was that all the action was very early in the a.m., for what its worth.
