For such a vocal MS State fan, you sure do pay a lot of attention to the Rebels. I doubt an Ole Miss fan has spent more than 6 seconds' thought to whatever goes on in Starkville. What gives? Your ol' lady leave you for someone with money and all their teeth?

He's a closet Rebel, and as much as he tries denying it, he continues to prove us all right day after day after day!!!!

Yep, Luke took the money and ran. He is going to join Phat Phil, Cut, and the rest of the Hee Haw gang defending the Vols at the Rocky Top Alamo next season. They are circling the wagons on top of ol Smokey. The pressure will be intense. Things could get a little dicey.
Reportedly, Luke did not like the long hours demanded by Coach O. And, he did not like being accountable for his coaching area and performance.
It appears to me that Luke is jumping from the skillet to the frying pan, but will get more dinero.
Luke was a great Rebel football player. He played center for UM with a lot of heart and desire to win. Although somewhat undersized, he compensated for that by playing smart and with his mental toughness. He called the offensive line sets and ID'd the defensive sets on every offensive snap for the Rebs --much like a QB would do. I think he was probably promoted at UM a little too fast and early in his coaching career to positions he was not yet ready for, due to his former playing days at UM and UM connections. The move to UT, if the staff now in place can last longer than next season, will be a good move for him and give him more needed experience, which he is lacking to some degree. I wish him well.
From my understanding, Luke was not "run off" by Coach O. In the end, his leaving was a mutual agreement.
Some coaching changes are expected after a 3-8 season, and particularly after Coach O's first full year at UM. Coach O had a very short period of time to assemble his first staff, and I am certain some compromises for expediency were made under those circumstances. It would not suprise me to see a couple of more coaching changes on the staff other than Mazzonne and Luke after Coach O completes his year-end evaluations and makes needed decisions to improve and upgrade the program. I hope that Coach O fully evaluates the program after every season and makes needed changes, in the staff if necessary, to continue to improve and get better. Hopefully, the good ol boy system is on the way out at UM. We will need to be performance driven if UM is ever to rise above the middle of the pack in the SEC. (Right now we are at or near the bottom with Kentucky, MSU, and Vandy, and the view is not pretty
