Not nearly as much shooting as usual from over that way on Friday.. . Didn't hear all that much traffic passing the cabin coming off 61 either...relative to most opening days.

Heard more shooting on Sat. morning, but still a lot less than usual.

Only a few ducks on adjoining property. Unless it's pumped, there is no water...not even on lakes I've never seen dry before.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on that. A doctor that i was hunting with said it looked like the Oklahoma Land Race going down that levee. And just to make a slight correction to your post, the race was supossed to start at 5am, but it actually started about 4:54am. But that was kinda like the legal shooting time. It was supossed to start at 6:09, but somebody jumped the gun on that too and started it about 5:50am. and the rest of you who were there know what happened after that.

SKB7 they shot early in that lake behind the private. I was using 4:59 as a joke. Your right they took off around 4:55.

yeah KRT. I heard that. I think everybody knew they had that game warrden out numbered that morning. I always make sure I am 100% legal when I am out there and I require everyone that goes with me to do the same. That means follwing the time rules just like all the other rules. If everyone would do that it would make it better for the rest of us. With that said, I would like to agree with Delta Dawg on it sounding more like a dove hunt rather than a duck hunt. I could see a guy who had told me earlier that morning that he was going to be squirrell hunting, standing on a bank about 150 yds straight across from me, busting the hell out of some woodies. He killed several limits that morning. I thought he was going to melt his barrel. I guess the squirrel thing didn't work out for him.

Overall it was my worst Thanksgiving trip to date. I've never seen Mahannah like that before......even on yalls opener. I guess them having water had a lot to do with it. We had a pretty good hunt Sat at Sunflower and no CROWD!!! Don't worry I'll be back

I only bring two other people with me and we keep good secrets lol!! Anyways I need to get up with you and Don Miller for a cold beverage sometime when I'm out that way if it's possible.
