Y'all have probably seen these planes in this next pic on History Channel. F4U-1A Corsairs..made famous by Pappy Boyington and the Black Sheep of VMF-214. Japanese called 'em "whistling death" because of the sound the wind made as it passed through the oil cooler vents in the leading edge of the wings.
